There are many clubs that you can join while you are here at Westcliff School.
Netball Club
Welcome to the Netball Club.
Miss Francis and Miss Marshall coach our netball club which is held on a Tuesday
night after school. Boys and girls can both play from Years 4, 5 and 6. We are part
of a High Five Netball league, which means that we go to Teignmouth Community College
to play matches against other primary schools. There is a Netball Festival held
every year in October. Our team came 3rd out of 12 teams – we were very pleased!

Play Friends
We now have two different lunchtime clubs which everyone can take part in. One happens
in the ‘cage’ and each class gets to go in there and play with the new equipment
every other week. The other club happens in our quiet area where children can play
games, dress up, and do creative activities. Each class gets to go in here once
a week. These are both super clubs and are run by Mandy with the help of the Play
Friends (Year 6 children). |
Sign Language Club
On Thursday lunch times at 12:40pm we meet in class 5 for sign language club. We
are year 1 and 2 children and Miss Francis teaches us sign language. First of all
we learnt the alphabet and we can now all finger spell our names. We have also learnt
the signs for people in our family and pets. We can use these in sentences to communicate
to each other. Each week we practise what we have learnt, and also learn new signs.
We are all getting much better. |
Football Club
Welcome to football club. Our coach is Mr Foreman. We are boys and girls from Years
4, 5 and 6. We train on a Monday night after school. We are now part of a league
and are doing quite well. There is also a Football Festival once a year. |
Choir
The Choir meets every Wednesday morning at 8:45am. There are lots of girls and only
one boy – but it is still enjoyable. It is fun at choir as we learn lots of songs
for different occasions such as Christmas and Jack The Musical! |
Jack - The Musical !
This year we are putting on the production of Jack and the Beanstalk. There are a lot
of different people involved in this.
Singing and Dancing
At dancing practise we get ready for our big performance in February. We do all sorts
of fun dances and sing lots too. We practise every Thursday after school. Mrs Hardee and
Mrs Mugford help us out with the dancing and the singing. A lot of effort is put into
these performances so that Family and friends can come and watch this amazing show.
Props and Costumes
In props and costumes we do a variety of things, including papier mache balloons. All
the things that we make will be used in our production of Jack and the Beanstalk in February
2003. Everybody that comes to props and costumes think that it is fun! When we finish
we have normally made a big mess but we’re also getting good at tidying up! |
