The half term started with very sad memorial assemblies.
The school joined with students from Ansford, Yeovil College and
Sexey’s in remembering Kayley who was in Y11 and Sarah who left
us two year’s ago. Our thoughts are with the families of the two
girls - and of Nick, who was not a KA student - and the community
of Bruton : they were bright young people who had everything to
look forward to.

SPORTS COLLEGE STATUS
On February 4th The Secretary of State for Education announced
that King Arthur’s had achieved Sports College status. When we open
in September King Arthur’s will be a Sports College.
What will this mean? More sports, more teams, more opportunities!
And it is not just for the students at King Arthur’s - we want this
to be a partnership with other schools in the area, the Sports Centre
and the Moor Lane complex.
Don’t think it is just about elite squads and super stars. If this
Sports College idea is going to work it has got to benefit us all
- from the youngest toddlers through to grandparents. Everybody
agrees the nation is not fit enough and that’s what the Sports College
is about : giving us all opportunities to do things, encouraging
us to get fit. So, whoever you are reading this Link Letter, the
Sports College is about you!
OFSTED INSPECTION
We want to say thank you to all parents who completed and returned
Roger Holmes’ questionnaire about KA. There were several hundred
envelopes returned - although of course the school will not know
yet what you have said about us! We were pleased by the very kind
and supportive things that were said at the parents’ meeting with
the Registered Inspector. We now look forward with confidence to
the inspection week. |
