December 2002
Dear Parents

I would like to take this opportunity of wishing you all a very enjoyable Christmas and a peaceful New Year!

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at our Christmas Nativity this week - 'It's a Baby'. We also welcome you to join us at 6:30pm at St John's Church for our Carol Service on Monday 16 December.

Thank you for all your help and support throughout 2002.

Yours sincerely

Christmas and the PTFATop of page

Firstly, thank you for your support at our Family Disco. Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable time and it was very well attended. Thank you as well for all the donated items for our Christmas Hampers. We will be holding the draw on Wednesday 18 December - the winners will receive excellent hamper prizes.

The Christmas Craft Fair was very successful - we raised an amazing £600 for the school. Thanks also to the stall holders and to Father Christmas (who was very busy!) We have also held our Christmas Bingo evening and the Children's Magic Show - both very well attended and enjoyed by all.

Our thanks also to Mrs Whitlock for all her hard work with the Webb Ivory orders. We really do appreciate how much of her time she gives up to help us with this.

We will give you an update on how much money we have raised with all our Christmas activities next term.

Royal British Legion Poppy AppealTop of page

We were able to donate £53.36 to the Poppy Appeal - thank you!

Harvest FestivalTop of page

Thank you for all your generous gifts for our Nightshelter Harvest. The response was overwhelming and we were delighted that the new curate of the parish church of St John the Baptist and St Andrew's, Reverend Margi Campbell, joined us to receive the gifts on behalf of the charity. We were able to donate 10 large sacks containing jumpers, fleeces, socks, scarves, gloves and hats. Many needy people will benefit from your kindness during the cold winter months.

New ArrivalsTop of page

We are delighted to tell you that Mrs Patterson has a baby son - Toby Dominic and that Mrs Ellis has a new daughter - Eleanor Ann. Lovely new arrivals for Christmas! Our congratulations and best wishes to both families.

Tesco Computers for SchoolsTop of page

Thank you to everyone who brought in Tesco vouchers earlier this year. Due to your stirling efforts, we were able to receive 2 new PC's - one is being used to support special needs children and the other is located in our Elliott classrooms for use by Year 3.
