Huish Headlines
April 2003
Dear Parents

Our cover for Huish Headlines reflects our brilliant choir, dancers and instrumentalists at the South Somerset Music Spectacular. Their performance was excellent and the school received many compliments from all those who saw them. The costumes were superb, so our thanks to all those talented parents, grandparents etc who made such creative 'animals'. It was a real team effort, but I would particularly like to thank Mrs Burgess, Mrs Toal, Mrs Eveleigh, Mrs Smith and her daughter for all their hard work, preparation and support. Also thanks to Mr Nickels and Mrs Fossey who joined the team to create the amazing painted faces. Lastly, congratulations to all our children!

Yours sincerely

We raised a stunning £214 on Comic Relief Day! The hairstyles of both children and staff were colourful, exotic, dynamic, unusual, etc! etc! Many thanks!

Pictures of these and our choir are on our website Here.

A very busy and successful term for all our teams, athletes and runners. Particular congratulations to Sarah-Jane Hart and Oliver Lead for their excellent performance in Cross Country and our Year 3/4 Football team, who we hope may have won the Area League. Special thanks to parents, Mr Rose, Mrs Herbert and Mrs Rimmer for their help and support.

A Message from Michelle BrownTop of page

As you know, I have been asking parents for donations for my charity Phab Kids so that I can run in the London Marathon on 13 April this year. So far, thanks to your help, I have raised £600. Unfortunately it costs £275 to run plus administration costs of £200. As this would take nearly all of the money raised, the charity has informed me that I shall have to postpone taking part in the Marathon this year and try again next year. In the meantime I need to raise at least another £300. The money raised so far is in a bank earning interest, but if any parent wishes to have their donation returned, please do not hesitate to find me in the infant playground. Thank you for your help and support.
